Please could you tell me what printers do snapfish/photobox use? I would like the actual model and if possible a description to why they use a certain type (e.g. digital press over something like laser!).

Does anybody know of any websites with photos or descriptions of the warehouses or buildings where the printers are located?

Also, what paper do these people use?

Finally, what equipment do they use to finish the prints (e.g. binding, stitching, folding, and cutting).

Many thanks

Ross Wilson

Photobox uses Fujifilm print paper probably using their "Frontier" colour printing machine and processor.

You may want to contact them and see if you can download a printing profile for their machines although usually if you shoot in sRGB, your colours will match.

Snapfish is affiliated with HP and does not list a processing machine, so it could be either a Noritsu high performance QSS Series processing and printing unit or the previously mentioned Fuji Frontier

I am sure if you email them, someone will tell you what you need to know

In terms of money I mean. For example, you could make a bar, and machine it, but that would create steel waste, as would laser cutting, and cold drawing (I think). If you have to cut parts of the steel off, and throw those away, that's like throwing away money (isn't it?).

Is there a way where you could make this shape without wasting steel? Or would the machine required to create the steel in such a way be so expensive that I should not worry about the waste from the machining/cutting etc?

I need the cheapest way to create a steel bar which has an octagonal cross section. Please help!

If you are making one bar, machine it from stock. If you are making production volumes, steel casting. Forge after casting if you need added strength.

The scrap to go from round bar stock to octagon would only be significant in large scale manufacturing.

If it needs to be precision sized, it will need finish machining and grinding.

I want to start a jewellery line with my friend and we don't have much money or equipment (eg. laser cutting machines etc). I was looking into Lovebitesandbruises.com but the website doesn't seem to be working?

Anyone know what has happened with the site?
And do you guys know any easy ways to make scene jewellery?
Edit: Kiki Kannibal's jewellery is wayyy to expensive.

lovebitesandbruises.com is a fake version of kiki kannibal's jewellery.

you could purchase kiki kannibal's jewellery at her website:
